RayTube Finances
A private personal-finance dashboard.
RayTube Finances is a personal budgeting tool built and operated by Ray Tube Productions LLC (Benjamin Baros) for the account owner's own use. It shows the owner's bank, credit card and investment balances and transactions in one place, and helps plan monthly budgets and shared household bills. It is not offered to the public and has no sign-up.
Bank connections are made through Plaid. RayTube Finances never sees or stores bank usernames or passwords.
Privacy policy
Who this covers
The only user of RayTube Finances is its owner. The accounts connected to it are the owner's own accounts.
What data is collected
For accounts the owner chooses to connect through Plaid:
- Account names, types and the last four digits of account numbers
- Current and available balances
- Transaction history (date, amount, merchant and description)
- Investment holdings and investment transactions
No bank login credentials are collected. Plaid handles sign-in with each bank directly.
How the data is used
- To show the owner their balances, transactions and investments
- To plan budgets, savings goals and monthly money movements
- To calculate shared household bill totals
The owner may also use software assistants, acting on the owner's behalf, to review and organize this data.
Sharing
The data is never sold and is never used for advertising. It is not shared with anyone, except that a household member may see shared-bill totals, and service providers needed to run the app (Plaid) process it as part of providing their service.
Storage and security
- Data is kept on systems controlled by the owner and is not publicly accessible.
- Access to the app is restricted to the owner's private network and requires authentication.
- Data is encrypted in transit.
- Plaid access tokens are stored as secrets and are never published or logged.
Retention and deletion
Data is kept while an account remains connected. When an account is disconnected, its Plaid connection is removed and its stored data is deleted within 30 days.
You can also review and revoke a connection at any time through Plaid Portal.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated.
